After finishing holding you I couldn't start this one fast enough. I seriously considered calling sick into work because I had to know what was going to happen to Quinn.At the end of holding you we were faced with what seemed to be the impending death of Quinn after a confession from Addy caused him to fall during a climb with Addy.Although I was a little shocked with Addy's admission to be married previously I couldn't understand Quinn's horrible reaction to her and his family. I spent most of Holding Me loving Quinn and his demeanor and his chase of Addy but in this book I had so much hate for Quinn and his down spiral into alcoholism, just like his father.my other concern was how much bad luck can one person have in their life.... poor Addy has circumscribed to the worst luck ever and although I won't ruin it by telling each part but man, I don't think I have ever felt for a fictional character like I did towards Addy.This was a perfect ending to an absolutely wonderful, gutwrenching, disturbing, sad, happy and funny story about 2 seriously messed up souls of 2 different lives that are so much alike!Quinn and Adler forever, these are my new favorite characters.(
I loved, loved this series. Jewel is one of my top 3 favorite authors, and this is another example of why. The characters, and their emotions, and sense of humor that they have is always a pleasure to read. Addy and Quinn are the perfect couple. So different at first, but then you realize they are very similar. They are broken and sad, then funny, aggravating, and then over the top passionate.Jewel has a quirky, funny and sensual writing style that always hooks the readers.I believe this is the last book of hers I had not read, now I don't have a clue where to go from here.Can't wait for new reads.
This book has everything and I do mean everything you could want in a book. Let me start out by saying what I loved about these 2 books by Jewel E. Ann.1. Great chemistry between the H/h.2. Great storyline3. Hot Latin sex God as main male character4. Loveable friendly selfless amazing female lead5. Romance, tragedy, true soul mates, let me say Tragedy again with capital T. What Addy has endured and overcome in here life is amazing !6. Hot sexy scenes all I'm saying is BJ in public garage and BJ in kitchen whew !! Hot7. Great friends Now why I didn't give this more stars:1. So much tragedy that when finally HEA, I felt drained and needed more happy story time with these characters to feel complete.2. Quinn was a di** wayyy to long in the beginning of this book. If I had been in Addy's shoes I soo would have kicked his a** to the curb but then we wouldn't have gotten a great story.3. Possible SPOILER HERE.....Things left unanswered ie who killed her parents, who attacked her and why, what about the lawsuits?? Things I needed answers to since was major parts in story.4. Finally just needed the happy times at the end at least to out number the horribly sad times! I as a reader needed more story into Addy and Quinn's happiness to show since they both have horrible tragedies they overcame. They deserved nothing less!I highly recommend these books you'll laugh, swoon, cry, become all hot and bothered repeatedly in these books.
2014?!?!? Where the heck was I? I am torn between being pissed at myself for missing out on this story for so long, and being happy that I was in a perfect place to completely savor it. This story is all things ANGST. I love it so hard, I want to marry it. I have read other reviews and understand why reviews may have been lower than mine, but overall what I experienced, what I got and gave in this story had to be recognized with 5 stars. If there were more I would give them. I was so invested in the lives and tragedies of these people, at every turn, head on collision or stall of emotions I was all in. I only have two more books to read from this author to have said I have read them all...again I'm torn. Do I fly through them? Or do I stagger and savor? We will see. What I do know with out hesitation is that Quinn and Addy will live in my reading soul for all of eternity.
