My first grader loves this chapter book! Most of the words are sight words, appropriately strung together, easy comprehend-able subject matter for the age group! We are going to purchase some more in this series! My son loves it who is 6yrs old because it is a chapter book- which makes it more cool- so he says!
It may be difficult for your child to move beyond the 'two sentence per page' picture books. It took a bit of encouragement, but these books are a stepping stone. They are an invaluable tool for your child to advance to a 2nd grade reading level.
This series is awesome!! It is captivating and has enhanced my 5 year old grandson's curiosity. It has taught him use his problem solving skills. I have purchased every book in the series.
This book is helping me teach my 5 year old how to read. He loves the fact that his name and the main characters name are the same.
