These are, for the most part, very nice postcards. What is quite annoying is that they chose to print them on paper that is 18% thicker than the maximum allowable thickness to use postcard postage. They're quite cheap at around 11 cents per postcard, but the extra thickness means paying an additional 13 cents every time you mail one. My biggest annoyance with that is that they don't make small first class stamps with perforations that go all around the outside edge so it isn't as pretty.

I originally bought these because they were such a good price and I wanted to send them off for Postcrossing. WRONG. After going through them, I decided I had to buy a set to keep for myself!There are NO duplicates- all 100 postcards are original. There's a lot of really great concept art, shorts, random art, and just beautiful cards. They're great, heavy, quality and they come in a decorative box. Movies I found cards from include A Bug's Life, Cars, Geri's Game, Monster's Inc, Toy Story (1 & 2), The Incredibles, One Man Band, The Adventures of Andre and Wally B, Finding Nemo, Knick Knack, Red's Dream, Boundin', For the Birds, and Tin Toy, but I may be missing some as there are so many to go through.I would very highly recommend these cards for anyone.

This is a great set of postcards. Many of the illustrations and images are adorable, and the postcards are thick and sturdy. I did find that many were from pixar films that are less well-known (at least to me), or were of images that were a little sad/boring, which I wouldn't want to give to other people. i think maybe 60-70% of the box is great though, and think this could make a great gift, especially for a pixar fan.

Send to friends and family, they say they love getting them! Good variety, not just classic scenes but some really artful pieces as well.Sometimes hard to choose which ones I want to share ;)

I wish I could give these 10 stars!! I participate in postcrossing and many postcrossers like these type of postcards. There are many classrooms that participate in the postcard exchange fun and these will be perfect for them. The quality is outstanding. Very sturdy cards and plenty of room on the back to write your message. I would definitely recommend these and will purchase again!

This set of Pixar postcards is very, very nice! Out of 100 postcards, no repeats. The cards themselves are made out of nice heavy card stock,... not cheap and flimsy. The pictures are great! There are a few that to me are just 'meh' but I would say out of 100 there are only 5 or 6 pictures I thought were so-so, the rest I love! It will be hard to send some of these out! For the Pixar collectors, this is a nice set and they arrive in a really cute storage box. The box I received had a slight dent on one side, but for the most part it looks pretty good. I love Pixar movies and these postcards are really cute, happy with my purchase! :)

It's a decent value, 100 sturdy postcards for around $13. These are not printed on cheap paper like most post cards. Seriously, it's as if they knew that to get a person to spend $13 on postcards, they better be able to handle some actual wear and tear. They come in a nice looking box, loose.If you're looking for postcards to use in the mail, these are excellent. As I said before, they're printed on sturdy card stock. The images used are stills from the films or sketches of characters and scenes from the films during the planning stages, and a handful of pictures that look like they were drawn by children. Great stuff, honestly.I purchased these to use as postcards, especially since it's kind of hard to find postcards out here. It can be done but the choices are slim. I like to send the occasional post card to my preschool students to encourage them to use the postal service and send along a little cheer (who doesn't like getting a postcard?), so I sought these out with that purpose.I would recommend these for anyone who enjoys Pixar art, who wants to collect these for just looking at and/or wants to have a supply of high quality postcards on hand.

These postcards are of a great. The image colors are vibrant, the cardstock is thick and druable, and there's plenty of space for both the address and a message. The images are from a wide variety of both wildly popular and somewhat more obscure Pixar films. They are not all screen-ready images, but also include conceptualization/drawing-board and story-board images as well. It's a great variety of neat cards!

The title is misleading, suggesting the book is about the structure of happiness. Familiar with some of De Botton's other works, though, I was eager to read this one too, and to learn why I am so viscerally impacted by my surroundings. I found the answer in this elegant phrase: "An ugly room can coagulate any loose suspicions as to the incompleteness of life, while a sun-lit one set with honey-coloured limestone tiles can lend support to whatever is most hopeful within us." I understand myself better through this book, and am consoled.

An enthusiast is, I think, the perfect guide to an interesting subject of which we know little. Alain de Botton is one such docent and The Architecture of Happiness is a delightful overview of the eponymous subject. This is not a history of architecture but rather a meditation upon why it matters: how it impacts our lives and affects our moods; what are the component parts that make it a success or failure? There are general observations about the classical tradition and Gothic styles and the radical break of modernism. So radical was it that even professionals had difficulty, for a time, distinguishing between engineering and architecture. The author considers all styles worthwhile and seeks out the best within them.De Botton writes beautifully and passionately with helpful photographs or renderings that compare and contrast what he is extolling or criticizing. The final two chapters ("The Virtues of Buildings" and "The Promise of a Field") are particularly fine. In them, he discusses (among other things) order, elegance, balance, and coherence. The promise of a field is a paean to the spaces we occupy that were once either uncluttered or naturally beautiful in their own right. De Botton argues that if we are going to plop down a structure in the midst of nature (which already contains natural order, elegance, and balance) let us at least make it a 'best effort'. Put thought and consideration into the process rather than just utilitarian or worse, adding another scar on the landscape. Let's make cities like Edinburgh or Bath--conceived, planned and executed with purpose, not the awful sprawl of London or Los Angeles. I couldn't agree more.Very worthwhile.

I had never read anything by Botton before picking up this one, so it was not only an architectural journey, but a stylistic one in terms of writing, as well. It starts off with pessimistic, albeit realistic views of architecture and its limits. It sounds so pessimistic in tone at first that you wonder where the book's title comes from, which draws you into it more. The ideas presented in this book are substantiated with plenty of real life proof, from Le Corbusier's mishaps to Frank Gehry's playful escapes. I wish the author would have been more direct in his language, as his ideas are not in need of pompous language to get across. I also would have liked to see at least one allusion to a work of Frank Lloyd Wright.None of the arguments in the book are earth-shattering, and they shouldn't be. De Botton's ultimate purpose of the book is to convert the "non-believers" of architecture who believe that the profession is nothing more than fanciful, unnecessary ornament. It successfully proves why we need architecture in a very gradual way: first, if you believe that who you are depends on external forces (not a very demanding concept for even the most cynical), then you can come to believe that who you are depends on where you are, followed by who you are depends on the built environment around you as much as the people in your life. After he adds this concluding link in his chain of persuasion, de Botton provides a list of five virtues that any happy structure should reflect: order, balance, elegance, coherence, and self-knowledge.

This book approaches architecture from outside the field and begins to answer questions that architects have recently forgotten to ask. (What is beauty in architecture? What is style and in which should one build?)Required reading for architects and anyone considering buying or constructing a building.

I bump into way too many people when in Manhattan. This happens because my head it tilted too far up, in awe of all the beautiful buildings, instead of head down, trying to finding the gaps in people's steps to get where I'm going faster. If you have done the same thing, or are looking to bump into more people on your next trip, you'll really enjoy this book.

de Botton always writes dense thought provoking reviews often on things we know about but don't ruminate about. So it was with his Proust book. Of course since Lehrer has told us that Proust was a neuroscientist Proust is now more widely mentioned, though probably not read. One would need to take to his bed.... The architecture of happiness in a like manner encourages one to think about how design works on us and throughout time has influenced us. It encourages us to ruminate about the things we make and see. I have given a copy to a young girl who wants to go into architecture as I believe it will widen her horizon. I highly encourage reading of this short tome and studying the pictures for any who can sit in a comfortable chair.

Ordered this to really understand all the bells and whistles of Nmap before taking my PWK (OSCP) course. Regarding the criticism for Fyodor for repeating himself, there is a lot of repetition in the book. However, this actually adds value to book as reference material. Unlike other books, while reading on any topic you do not have to jump around in the book as everything you need is right there in each chapter. Most of the chapters are very easy reading while some get very technical. Not only does the author explain how to use the tool, he explains exactly what Nmap is doing with each command from a technical standpoint. If you plan to make your own network scanning tool, this is the book for you! The book is a bit dated BUT all the updated material is available online for FREE as well as the Nmap change logs.My only criticism lies in the quality of the material not the content (5 star content). The printing is blurred on multiple pages and cover is awkward (after opening once the cover will forever curl out). This is book I would like to keep forever, it would have been nice if it came in hard cover.

The book is slightly dated, but still very informative. I would not hesitate to suggest this book to somebody wanting to learn Nmap. Not only is it a good reference for Nmap options and tunings, it also displays the information in an engaging and informative way from the perspective of a pen tester. I read it like a novel and gained a lot of knowledge about Nmap and network mapping in general.The biggest outdated details are that -sP is now -sn, and that IPv6 is now supported more for Nmap. Beyond that, the functionality is mostly just extended to include new features.

You get more than a listing of commands. You get an explanation of the workings of NAP that's easy to understand. If your using NAP you should own this book. It will tell you what tests you need to run for your goals.

No other open-sourcesecurity tool in recent memory (10yrs) matches the potentially bad....andostensibly good events someone could discern from a network.What makes the book unique in its approach is that it was written by thecreator of the tool. Fyodor is a rare combination of first-rateprogrammer and elucidating author, which some might relate to -- how manyof us have used an excellent tool, only to be underwhelmed by the dearthof documentation?This is especially important from a technique/holistic view, meaning thatthe more intricate the security tool, the more potential mayhem one cancreate. It's the difference between knowing your vulnerabilities orfinding out how personally vulnerable you are to pointed questions byangry admins after you brought down the network...or worse.Over half the book goes over features and options I haven't seen onlineanywhere else -- that alone makes the book a worthwhile purchase. Buyingthe book reaffirms the concept that intelligent, well-designed opensource software can be exponentially better than software costingthousands...and you can take that to your Knowledge Bank.-joe

The book came in good condition and looked very nice, the old Gothel on the hardcover is a nice touch. The story itself I have mixed feelings about.The story was interesting and I was excited to know more about Gothel's past. If it wasn't attached to the Tangled story and had a different end, it would have actually been an amazing book in my opinion.I personally think they messed with the story and character in a way I didn't like. Sure you don't know MUCH about Gothel from the movie but this book made her insane and completely unattached.Everything was decent enough until it caught up to the movie part. Where these odd sister's were narrating parts of what happens in the movie but in a way also almost mocking it. I didn't like that. I would have liked to see Gothel's point of view in those moments instead of boring narration from these sisters that honestly became very annoying to me. The end just fell apart for me.

This was much more detailed and thought provoking than I had imagined!when I bought this book,I expected it to be a childs tale, but I was so wrong. It was much more complicated than i thought, but not too complicated that I couldn't keep up. It was a dark and twisted tale, which personally, I think gave it an excellent plot. But most importantly, there wasn't a dull moment. I couldn't stop reading!!! Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anybody! Now, I must read more of the authors work!

Got this at 12:25 this afternoon and finish it at 4:16! I really could t put it down ! It was amazing as always. This woman is amazing at making the beginning story’s of these villains ! We meet gothal young early 20. We find her life full of sadness and darkness. It goes up to where tangled ended. It’s an amazing story. Hoping queen of hearts is next :).

Since the very first chapter I didn’t want to put this book down! I loved the outline and I loved the back story to this villain! Amazing job and I highly suggest to any reader interested in reading about the dark side of Disney!

I loved this book... it was a lot darker than I thought it would be but it was really good... I was interested in finding out Gothel's story and hope we find out more about her family in the next book... Everyone at my worked loved this as well... we really enjoyed this whole series... Great little book! My first graders loved this book! I have it on Kindle, and I must say that the formatting is great. It is a lovely addition to my classroom library, and it works great on Kindle for independent reading sessions.

Cute and simple explanation of rainbow for any kid under 7 years old and younger. It was such a fun read and perfect length for bedtime.

My grandson had become fascinated with rainbows in a Rainbow Brite book. We read it too many time so I looked for another book that had rainbows in it. This book is advanced and my grandson doesn’t understand everything but he loves talking about the rainbows and rain.

My first read from this author, FORGOTTEN starts well, and drew me in from the first page. I bought it, and read the whole thing yesterday. Now my eyes are burning, and I'm wondering whether I want to obsessively collect everything this author has written, or run away screaming "never again." The main character is compelling, and the non-stop action makes it hard to put down ... but ... so many "loose ends" are frustrating, I hate "cliffhanger endings" and the story arc appears to be going from dark to darker toward a "zombie apocalypse" tale, which is NOT what I want to read! I was expecting "danger in space" with heroic characters working together to save the ship and its passengers, get them safely to land, and meet the challenges of planting a colony. This is NOT that type of novel! It is dark, and violent, and becomes both bleaker and less believable as it progresses. So, if sci-fi horror is your preference, you will love this book. It's very well-written for that genre. Otherwise, be warned -- this isn't "feel-good space opera."

An interesting initial premise (generation ark ship gone long past it’s destination and colonists who have forgotten where they are going or how to run the trip). But after a just a few chapters it’s clear that NONE of the characters will be given any dimension or complexity, and the plot was never given any details.But worst of all, what little science fiction there was to begin with changed to stupid (and completely unbelievable) zombie hunting, graphic cannabilism (for no real reason), and just random characters who show up for a few chapters and get killed off.The protagonist (“Sheriff Duke”), who is given zero depth, acts ridiculously and unbelievably to nearly every situation he faces, and is so single minded in his quest is defies credulity.Lastly, just when you think you’re almost done, and that you’ve stuck through to the ending to see what happens, the author apparently decides to make this story a series, so he takes all the garbage he’s forced on you for some 50+ chapters...and throws it all out, just to allow an incredibly stupid cliff-hanger (to low him to write the next stupid book in this “series”).If you have any sense of literary interest or intrigue, you will HATE this book....it seems more like a junior high creative writing class assignment that went awry.On the other hand, if you don’t care about plot, don’t care about inconsistencies within a story, and if you like lots of senseless killing, stupid zombies, side-plot twists without any rhyme or reason (and never any resolution), then you might actually love this book.

We used to call this sort of story telling “Spinning a Yarn.” Meaning: it’s exceedingly thin and linear and there is no ‘tying up of loose ends’ at the ‘conclusion.’ And most often it implies the Yarn is unbelievable. The most unbelievable part for me is... I read the whole thing! When I finished the final tiresome last page I closed it and literally said “Well now, that was a wasted day!” Thankfully it was only four bucks and a few hours of my time. There will be no second purchase of M R Forbes titles around here. Sorry. Good luck though.

A mixture of tropes you've seen before, but Mr Forbes does a great job mixing them together and producing a novel which kept me reading from start to finish.As I've gotten older, I've found myself leaving fiction behind and switching to non fiction, but on the advice of a friend I downloaded this book last night and read it every available second and dividing it today. In fact, I bought the next book in the series before I even finished this one- that's how much I enjoyed it.The only (minor) criticism I had was a handful of typos and I'm assuming autocorrect mistakes. I can't believe in 2017...sorry...it's 2018 now, authors still for whatever reason don't have proof readers.

The book failed to make me care about the lead character. There's only so many times things can go wrong, horribly wrong, before you get emotionally numb and stop caring.Especially if the hero keeps surviving each and every onslaught.Enough action and surprises to entertain, but not enough depth to make me buy the second book.

For a long time I had been looking for a book which story was so good I couldnt put it down. And this was it. The best book I've read this year. One problem I have with many authors is that they write long books with a predictable, slow, boring story. This book has nothing of that. It is fast-paced, with tons of twists from beginning to end, highly unpredictable which leaves you wondering what the heck is really gonna happen next. Nothing is what you think on this story and that was something I loved about it. I'm gonna hop on book two and continue on the next series. Im amazed at how good this author is. Wished I had known of this earlier.

This book has an interesting plot line with some great twists and a few true surprises. Well-developed characters and an imaginative universe set it apart from others pursuing similar themes. I couldn't give it the 4, or even 5, stars it earned because of the typos and grammar errors that distracted from the reading flow. Ill definitely be reading this trilogy and likely check out the others in this author's collection, and, if he'd like or accept a critical editor, I'd be happy to review his next book for free.

How to prune fruit trees is a “orchard Bible” that I’ve used for over 20 years. It was out of print for many of those years but recently is on the market with some additional information. The best portion of the book Is how to develop a new fruit tree when you get it from the nursery, and learn how the initial pruning will set the tree framework for developing fruit for the rest of its life. The illustrations are excellent for showing how to prune trees over the years to develop a large fruit crop. Sanford the original author really helped my orchard.

Great detailed advice and instruction with nice sketches for where to prune. I carried this book around the orchard last year while I pruned and had great success with my crops this year.

Covers a lot of different trees and other plants in brief but useful detail. Illustrations are basically rough back of the envelope sketches.

As a Master Gardner, I have found this book to be one of the best pruning books available. At one time it was almost impossible to find and buy. Glad to see that it is now available for everyone to use as a guide and reference.

Very informative and very practical approach to pruning fruit trees, with some essential details that make the difference. Highly recommend this book to anyone who prunes fruit trees in a residential setting.

Being a privileged, white, senior-citizen South African, this book resonates painfully, on many levels. It's not an autobiography in the classic sense. No child could have such a memory for very early-life detail - and many complex conversations are obviously constructed to make (valid) points.This e-version, disappointingly, is *riddled* with spelling errors and typos. Positively screaming for a good editor.Is it a worthwhile read? Definitely. Because the struggles of 'ordinary' black South Africans during Apartheid, have not been sufficiently documented in our literature. The suffering caused by draconian, official, bureaucratic demands alone, was horrifying. Crippling poverty and hunger, aside. The author is an excellent raconteur. I see that several other books followed this. I may well be tempted.   Â

The main message! My teenage daughter was assigned to read this in school, so at her suggestion I went ahead and read it with her. I was familiar with apartheid in the academic sense, but reading a first hand account really slams the message home. Authoritarian states love using violence and pointless cruelty to enforce their rule.My only real complaint is that Mathabane is an exception to the rule, an outstanding athlete and academic he managed to escape and give us this story. Not exactly a flaw in the author. He does have a tendency towards long exposition dumps in the form of conversations that are wildly implausible. It gets the message across. Anyway highly recommended.

I chose this book to read after backpacking through South Africa for a month with my boyfriend. We are an interracial couple. We both noticed an unsettling amount of segregation still happening in the towns and countryside we travelled through. I realized that I didn't really understand the true impact of apartheid laws and decided I should do some research. This book definitely provided some insight and I'm looking forward to learning more. We did enjoy our time in South Africa, it's simply beautiful, and we met a lot of great people, but there is still work to be done on human rights issues. The author had so many hurdles to jump through to accomplish his dreams. He's truly an inspiring fellow.

I am really enjoying this novel so far and so are my students. We are reading it as an English Department. This is only day two of our reading and most of the students are asking to take the novel home. I only have a class set, but have directed those who can afford it to go to Amazon for used copies. I will try to update this as we progress with the novel.

In my fifties, I thought I've learned about survival and hope (I'm Jewish...The Holocaust and everything about IT taught me almost more than I could bare).Yet, Kaffir Boy is a book I find myself thinking about and referring to almost weekly. It is my daughter's favorite book. It took me a while to ask her why. One day, she ordered it for me. It is My favorite book now. We both have recommended this inspirational story to many, many people.

Mark Mathabane was born and raised in the unbelievable, hopeless poverty of one of South Africa's all black, rat and gang infested towns, Alexandra. As one of the children born in an area where de-humanizing police raids -a lot of times led by people of their own race, was a standard, almost nightly thing, he measured his life in days -not years.He writes as Johannes -the narrator and main character of the story. With the courage he learns from his mother and the education she fought for, he helps to look after and feed his younger siblings. Then with the help of his grandmother he overcomes the unimaginable rules and laws set for the `blacks', to earn a living in the `white' community. Eventually he meets up with a tennis star who helps him work towards a scholarship to an American University. This is where this part of the story basically ends.We all need to read about the unbelievable situations that some of our fellow humans live in -and who survive to grow and live a `normal' life.It is a testament to the author's tenacity that he lived to tell this story.You will not easily forget this book and you will be looking forward to reading the next one.

I have been to South Africa 2 times and Namibia 1 time. This book really gave me perspective on what I saw there. The country is beautiful and the people are more so. I better understand the gulf between blacks and white. I wish I had an answer to how to bridge the gulf but without a doubt education must be part of the solution.

I read this as part of my study abroad to South Africa. I did not even know such a thing as Apartheid existed until I read this book. What startled me most is that Apartheid had only collapsed in 1994.It was altogether disturbing yet interesting to learn about a child's life so marred by hardship. Mark Mathabane grows up living in a true ghetto. By comparison to the U.S., a ghetto here would seem like paradise to a South African under Apartheid. As such, there is many truly disgusting scenarios that the author went through as a child.For those interested in what life was like during Apartheid, I would strongly recommend this book for it gives the most brutally honest point of view from the black majority of South Africa.

Going strict gluten-free for 3 years only made it worse in the end. I had NO IDEA what was causing my gut such distress. My doctor (an internist, not a GI doctor) suggested looking into FODMAPs. OMG. The second day I was on the FODMAP elimination diet, at 4:30 in the afternoon--by which time my gut had ALWAYS swelled up, I looked down at my still-flat abdomen and said out loud, "WHOSE BODY IS THIS???!!!" I am so, so grateful; there are no words.Tip: since FODMAPs are cumulative in the gut, it make take you a bit of practice to find out what is an okay cumulative amount in a day, and what is not. When you find you're having symptoms, you overdid it. Reduce your total FODMAP intake the next day. I found out that I was overdoing even the allowed fruits; I went without fruit for a couple of days, and had zero pain. Then I proceeded with caution with the fruit.If these fermentable sugars and fibers are your problem, you're on the road to Glory Land! Good luck!

This book changed my life! I knew something I was eating was destroying my digestive system but I had no idea what it was. I knew eating more fiber wasn't going to help me because I'd tried that and my symptoms got drastically worse. I'd gone gluten free and dairy free and [processed] sugar free at different points in my life and while I would feel better for a few weeks but eventually all of my symptoms would come back within a few weeks. I felt like I was going insane. I knew SOMETHING I was eating was causing my distress but had no idea what. I would get bloated and gain 8 lbs in 2 days after eating proper portion sizes of fruits and vegetables and lentils and everything I was "supposed" to eat. Enter this book: all of the research for the book is based off of ACTUAL MEDICAL RESEARCH being conducted in Australia. This is not a fad diet. This is not an anti-carb book. This is not a lose weight book. This is a book that guides you on how to do a proper elimination diet if you suffer from IBS to figure out what it is you can and cannot digest easily. Within two months of starting the elimination diet (two weeks VERY boring food stuff then the first round of testing a week, followed by another boring week for a total of 4 testing weeks), you will know which groups of foods you can and cannot eat. Turns out I can't eat apples, pears, stone fruits, mangos and mushrooms. All things one would think are perfectly acceptable! Nope. Not for me. If I eat mushrooms, I will actually get nauseous. If I eat a delicious, oh-so-crunchy organic apple, my stomach bloats and my digestive system freezes for 2-3 days. But what *I* can/cannot eat is different from what YOU can/cannot eat. It's all in how the molecules are shaped and how each individual's digestive system reacts to the way those molecules are shaped. I did not lose weight after I figured out what my trigger foods are but my weight stabilized. Before I did this book my weight would fluctuate sometimes 10 lbs in less than a two week period (and I wasn't eating gallons of ice cream followed by days of starving myself). I now have normal lady weight fluctuations of 2-3 lbs based on my cycle. When I got pregnant, I had to see a nutritionist because I had hypermersis gravidarium (think Princess Kate and vomiting for 9 months straight). When I told her I had IBS and did an elimination diet she looked at me kinda side eyed and wanted to recommend a book to me, the only book she ever recommends to IBS sufferers: THIS is the book she recommends. When I told her this was the book I used, she was relieved and then believed me when I knew what my trigger foods were. It is easy to read and follow. I would recommend buying it in print form (I bought the Kindle version) because you will reference it often and I found it annoying to "flip" around the pages of the digital copy.

I am trying to follow this to the letter. But one has to be careful of GMO products and any of the Gum's (Gar Gum, Xanthan Gum etc.) So if something is making you sick when you reintroduce it to your diet, lets say yogurt for example make sure the yogurt does not say that (the FDA does not show any difference between cows who have growth hormones or anything with any Gums) before you give up on yogurt. It may be the hormones or gums that are setting the IBS-D off. All salad dressings and sauces etc. have gums and if the fruit is not grown (not just distributed ) in the USA you have no idea what is in it. Grapes for example are normally not bigger that your thumb without a growth hormone. If grown in the USA or organic you should be ok. Wheat, corn and soy are the most genetically modified products grown by BIG AGRA FARMS in the USA. Lots of vegetables have a weed killer in them too. They put it into the ground and the plant sucks it up as a nutrient. No amount of washing the product will get this off. Like people with Celiac Disease (I'm not) you have to make your own food with good farm products. This is time consuming and expensive to do. We need to support local farms. But the book is good regarding Fodmaps causing problems.
